REAL_WORLD_TRAINING
You know like, most schools just give you books and stuff? But here we actually let you work on real cars! My instructor always says "you can't learn to fix engines by reading about them" and that's so true. We have this huge garage with all the tools and everything - it's like being in a real shop but for learning.
CERTIFIED_INSTRUCTORS
All our teachers have like, worked in actual garages for years before they started teaching us. They know all the tricks and shortcuts that you can't learn from textbooks. Plus they're really cool about answering questions even if you ask the same thing like three times because you forgot.
JOB_PLACEMENT
The best part is they actually help you find a job after! Like, they have connections with garages all over Ontario and they'll literally call them for you. My cousin graduated last year and had three job offers before he even finished his final project. That's pretty amazing, right?
FLEXIBLE_SCHEDULE
They totally understand that people have different schedules and stuff. You can do evening classes or weekend sessions if you're working during the day. And if you miss something, they record the theory parts so you can catch up later. Super helpful for busy people!
BUILT BY MECHANICS,
FOR MECHANICS
So like, we started this whole thing because my dad's been fixing cars for 25 years and he was always saying how hard it was to find good training that actually worked, you know? Not the fancy stuff that doesn't help when you're under the hood of a real car.
TECHNICAL SPECS
My dad Mike had this old garage in Hamilton and he kept complaining about how the new guys didn't know basics anymore. Like, they could use the fancy computer diagnostic stuff but couldn't tell you why an engine was making a weird noise just by listening to it. That's when we figured maybe we should do something about it.
We started with just 5 courses - basic engine repair, brake systems, electrical troubleshooting, transmission basics, and diagnostic procedures. Nothing fancy, just real stuff that works in real garages. We filmed everything in dad's shop using actual customer cars (with permission obviously).
Word got around pretty fast. Other mechanics started sending their apprentices to us, technical schools began using our courses, and we kept adding more content. Now we have everything from basic oil changes to advanced hybrid systems. Still filming in real shops though - that's never gonna change.
HOW WE DO THINGS DIFFERENT
REAL GARAGE CONDITIONS
We don't film in perfect clean rooms with brand new tools. Our videos show you how to work in actual shop conditions - with limited space, worn tools, and cars that have seen better days.
COMMON TOOL FOCUS
We teach you to do more with the tools you probably already have. No assuming you've got the latest $5000 diagnostic equipment. Most of our techniques work with basic hand tools and a multimeter.
MECHANIC-TO-MECHANIC TEACHING
All our instructors are working mechanics, not just teachers. They deal with the same problems you do every day. When they show you something, it's because they've had to figure it out under pressure.
NO FLUFF CERTIFICATION
Our certifications mean you can actually do the work, not just pass a test. Every course ends with practical assessments where you diagnose real problems and explain your solutions. Employers know what our certificates mean.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE WRENCHES
MIKE DAVIDSON
MASTER TECHNICIAN25+ years in automotive repair. ASE Master Certified. Started Davidson's Auto in 2003. Still gets his hands dirty every day and can diagnose most problems just by the sound they make.
SARAH DAVIDSON
COURSE COORDINATORThat's me! I handle all the tech stuff and make sure our courses actually make sense. Started learning about cars when I was 12 because dad needed someone to hold the flashlight properly.
TEAM OF 12 INSTRUCTORS
FIELD SPECIALISTSWorking mechanics from across Ontario who bring their expertise to specific courses. Each one chosen because they're the person other mechanics go to when they're stuck.
GOT QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT WE DO?
Look, we know online learning can be sketchy sometimes. If you want to know more about our approach or have specific questions about whether our courses will help with what you're trying to learn, just reach out. We're pretty straightforward about what we can and can't help with.
